2023 Whitfield Vineyard Pinot Grigio

Vineyard: Single vineyard located in the upper King Valley in the sub-region of Whitfield, the Vineyard sits on sandy clay loam soils. The region is renowned for longer and warmer ripening periods during autumn compared to other cool climate regions which presents ideal conditions for Mediterranean varieties.
 
Winemaking: Select machine harvested straight into the press. Gentle pressing took place with the free run juice separated. Cold settled and inoculated with a yeast culture in temperature controlled stainless steel tank where primary fermentation took place for over 20 days.
 
Maturation: In stainless steel and older French oak Barriques (20%)
 
Tasting Notes: Primary fruit flavours of lime, lemon, pear, white nectarine, and apple. Some faint honeyed notes and finishes with a saline-like minerality.
